Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo

Opened in June 1989, currently 17 acres with a wide variety of animals. 50 additional acres are undeveloped to allow for sizable future expansion. Open 7 days/week, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Adults $8.80, Senior Citizens $6.60, Children ages 3 to 12 $6.00, Children 2 and under are free.

Alligator Alley

Alligator Alley is a 17.5 acre natural Gator Park with hundreds of alligators, ranging in size from 10 inches to 13 feet, including the world record gator! Guests can walk along the boardwalk or feed the gators. The gators are farm raised or wild, with the majority of the wild gators coming from Florida as nuisance animals. Open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is $10/adults, $8/children 4 to 12, and free/under 3.

Baldwin County Heritage Museum

The Baldwin County Heritage Museum’s mission is to preserve the culture of the farm communities of early Baldwin County through the creation of a home for historically significant buildings, documents and artifacts from community life. A free lecture on topics of interest is held the second Sunday of each month (except Mother’s Day). Open Wed. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $4/adult, $2/teen, and $1/pre-teen.

 

 
Battleship USS Alabama

From the mighty USS Alabama to the Submarine USS Drum and 22 combat aircraft, the spirit of military pride is alive and well. The recipient of nine WWII Battle Stars, the Battleship USS Alabama and her crew of 2,500 saw action in the Atlantic for a year before joining the Pacific Fleet in mid-1943. The Memorial Park also includes a snack bar, memorial rose garden and gift shop. Open daily except Christmas. Summer hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., winter hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for ages 6 to 11 and free for ages 6 and under.

Bellingrath Gardens and Home showcase the generous commitment of Walter and Bessie Bellingrath to the natural beauty of our area. Enjoy the 65 acre gardens, Ecological Bayou Boardwalk, Southern Belle Cruise, or Magic Christmas in Lights. Open year round, except for Christmas Day. Gardens open at 8:00 a.m. and home tours begin at 9:00 a.m. Close at 5:00 p.m. Admission for garden only is $11, ages 13 and older and $6 for ages 5 to 12. Admission for house and garden is $19 and $11.50. Free for ages 4 and under, River Cruise is $19 and $11.50.
