Incoming Chairman - The Central Baldwin
Chamber of Commerce operates under the department concept. It is organized
into three departments: Operations, Organization, and Community Development.
The duties of the incoming Chairmen are two-fold: responsibility for committee
productivity and to perform in liaison and advisory capacities. The advise
and motivate the committee chairmen. They should attend meetings as frequently
as possible and read all minutes and reports. They should also serve as
liaison for their committee leaders with the Executive Committee and report
on committee progress at Board meetings when the Committee Chairman is not
present. (It is situated so that the committee chairmen are usually members
of the Board of Directors.)
Committees - A committee system is the
most effective given means of harnessing energies and abilities of volunteer
workers. Committees are responsible to the Board of Directors and report to
their respective incoming Chairman and CBCC Executive Director.
How it is Financed
The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is financed primarily by the
investment of its members. The maintenance of an adequate level of support
from all business and professional interests in the community is essential
to finance programs that are vital to community growth and
development.
The members financial investment may vary from the minimum based
on the fixed schedule. Additional financial support is provided to the
Chamber through the Annual Sponsorship Program.
Annual contracts with the municipalities of Summerdale, Silverhill, Loxley,
and Robertsdale are renewed with funds appropriately established by the CBCC
Executive Director and the responsible city government.
The CBCC fiscal year is from the calendar year of January 1st through
December 31st.
Relationships to Other Organizations
The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce is a member of several major
organizations designed to provide specialized service to the Chamber.
These organizations include BCEDA (Baldwin County Economic Development
Alliance), CCAA (Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama), and BCA
(Business Council of Alabama). Additional organizations may include ACCE
(American Chamber of Commerce Executives).
Non-paying association affiliations: EDPA (Economic Development Partnership
of Alabama), ADECA, and ADO (Alabama Development Organization).
