anticipation that more visitors will be passing through, and some will
decide on staying permanently. Summerdale is truly a place that you or
your business can call home.

Strengths for Business
Summerdale has a current population of 707, and has been increasing at
a rate of 5.5% since the 2000 census. One of the smaller cities in Central
Baldwin County, Summerdale still presents enormous growth potential for all
types of businesses locating in the area. U.S. Highway 59, which is a four
lane highway running from Gulf Shores, Alabama to Interstate 65, cuts
through the heart of the Summerdale, and provides an extremely high
traffic count for businesses on both the North-bound and South-bound
sides of the highway.
Summerdale also provides a historic downtown area only blocks off of
Highway 59 for businesses without as much need for high-traffic road
frontage. With the heavy traffic on Highway 59, as well as the historic
downtown business district, Summerdale would be a perfect location for all
types of businesses, large and small. Ideal businesses for this town would
include all large and small retail business, manufacturing, professional
services, food and entertainment business.
